Hi, I’m Nathan Metzger

Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW

I don’t believe meaning is something handed down to us, it’s something we shape and create through reflection, relationship, experience, and exploration. Life rarely offers us a clear path forward. It's messy, complicated, and sometimes just surviving it all...

My job isn’t to fix you. I’m not here with tidy answers or step-by-step solutions. I’m here to walk with you, to help untangle what's happening/happened, to ask better questions, and to honour the story you’re living. Together, we’ll build something thoughtful and honest: a space to feel seen, supported, and hopeful again.

My Approach

We start by making sense of your story together, the context, the weight, and the things too big to hold alone

Rooted in Connection

I believe healing happens through relationship. Whether you’re carrying grief, addiction, trauma, anger, or something harder to name, there’s space here for all of it. We start by making sense of your story together, the context, the weight, the things too big to hold alone.

Archaeology of Hope

This isn’t exploratory surgery.
I’m not here to diagnose or dissect. We move at your pace, with your permission, through what’s been buried or overlooked. Together, we uncover patterns, meanings, and moments that still hold weight. I bring reflection, questions, and a willingness to look closely, because sometimes hope hides in the places we least expect.

An Honest Invitation

Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or one-sided advice.
It’s real conversation, searching at times, steady at others, always collaborative. I bring curiosity, perspective, and space for what matters most to you. You bring your story, your pace, and a willingness to explore. This is work we do together.

How We Can Work Together

Whether you’re holding something too heavy to carry alone, lost in a system that doesn’t seem built for you, or simply in need of a place to be fully human, I’m here.

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Whether you’re facing stress, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, our work together is about helping you make sense of what’s going on and discovering ways forward that feel right for you.

Couples Counselling

Couples counselling offers a space for partners to slow down, listen, and understand each other in new ways. Whether you’re navigating conflict, feeling distant, working through a major life change, or simply wanting to strengthen your connection, our work together focuses on the relationship itself, not on deciding who’s “right” or “wrong.”

Group Counselling

There is something powerful about not being the only one in the room who gets it. Group therapy brings together folks who’ve lived through hard things, who understand coping isn’t always pretty and healing doesn’t move in straight lines. In all our groups, you’re not alone.

Support for Clutter and "Hoarding"

Clutter and “hoarding” are rarely about laziness or lack of discipline. They’re often bound up with loss, trauma, and the meaning we attach to things that matter to us. If you or someone you care about is feeling weighed down by belongings, I offer a respectful, non-judgmental approach that meets you where you are.

Reaching Out Can Be Hard

You don’t have to do this alone. If you’re ready, even just a little, let’s start!
